Tim is one of the most accomplished and original music radio broadcasters in the UK and, for many years, woke up Manchester as host of the hugely successful Xfm Breakfast Show. Today you will find him on Virgin Radio.
Before joining Xfm in 2007, Tim was a teacher and sports psychologist. Since then Tim’s rise through the ranks of radio has been meteoric. As the high amount of accolades he has received at the prestigious Sony Radio Academy Awards and Commercial Radio Awards will testify, he is one of the most respected presenters in the business. With wit and warmth, Tim has built an affinity with his listeners and is equally respected by artists. Tim’s programme was the hometown destination for Noel Gallagher, often co-presenting with Tim.
Alongside music radio, Tim has a long-standing and growing reputation in sport, in particular with rugby union. He enjoyed a 12-year career as a rugby player, plying his trade semi-professionally for Newbury and Manchester in National League One and the English Championship. During his studies for an MPhil in applied psychology, Tim worked as a sports psychologist, supporting Great Britain’s bobsleigh and badminton athletes.
As a broadcaster, Tim has presented for BBC Radio Manchester’s Rugby Union Extra and contributed regularly to BT Sport’s Aviva Premiership rugby coverage on television. Tim’s hugely successful weekly The Eggchasers Podcast “brings real rugby chat straight from the clubhouse” without taking itself, or the game, too seriously.
Tim is a sought after DJ at festivals and clubs such as Band on the Wall. Hee is also available as a DJ, conference host, and MC for corporate events.
